The best way to enjoy pizza is with a cold beer. Mellow Mushroom has 50 beers on tap and over 50 bottled beers. This can turn a simple pizza-and-beer choice into a long and well-thought-out decision.

Delray Beach’s Mellow Mushroom serves up customized pizzas, hoagies, sandwiches and salads. The wall decor screams Woodstock era, with artistic interpretations of rock legends’ portraits, album covers and the piece de resistance: a wall mural of The Beatles’ Abbey Road, but instead featuring Atlantic Avenue in the background.

Don’t let the art fool you; the real reason many people go there is for the impressive variety of booze. The types of beer range from domestic classics to imports with names you can’t pronounce and a taste that will put some hair on your chest.

For the true beer enthusiast, there is the Beer Club. Patrons who have had every beer in the restaurant’s stock are rewarded with a T-shirt, an official Beer Club card and their name on a plaque. So far, only 10 people have those bragging rights.

Funky Buddha
It's all about the banana beer

If you like beer, this is the place for you. If you don’t like beer, this is also the place for you.

Funky Buddha brags of having more than 90 micro-brewed beers and more than 40 loose-leaf teas, which makes the 30-plus kinds of wine and 40 flavors of hookah seem almost minuscule.

College nights and ladies nights offer two-for-one drinks, but watch out for the door fee and be careful, because sometimes the tip is already included in the bill.

This is the ideal place for those who are hardcore beer drinkers and yet a place for those who want to experiment with flavored beers. Raspberry and banana beers are just a few on the long list of Lambic-flavored beers.
